Attention all green thumbs!
The Cochrane and District Horticultural Society is hosting its annual spring sale this Sunday — and if you love gardening, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
The sale runs for just two hours in front of the Cochrane Public Library, 405 Railway St. W., and savvy shoppers tend to arrive early ahead of the 1 p.m. start time.
Club president Anne Hayter says there's sure to be something for everyone, thanks to the large selection of items donated by club members, local nurseries and supporters.
“The plants are starting to come in quite rapidly,” she said two days ago. “Right now, all of our members probably have a vehicle full of plants that they’re going to bring in to be priced.”
“Perennials, plants, houseplants, seeds and quite a few gardening accessories are coming in,” she added. “We have some bigger items this year.”
That includes an electric lawn mower and a weed wacker.
“We haven’t had items like that before, but there are always lots of pots, books and garden décor items as well.”
