The Swift Current 13U AAA Girodat Seeds 57s enter a busy four-game weekend looking for their first win of the season.
They'll travel to Yorkton Saturday for an afternoon doubleheader with the 1-2 Cardinals before returning home for a pair of games Sunday with the 2-0 Regina Wolfpack, including a featured game on Country 94.1's Local Sports Live.
Shortstop and pitcher Jett Girodat is excited for the opportunity to turn their 0-3-1 fortunes this season around in one weekend.
"They're both good teams," he said. "We hope to get our first two good wins of the season (in Yorkton), then come back home to Swift Current and win while we're broadcasted on the radio."
The 13U 57s went 0-2-1 last weekend in Regina at the Legasse Tournament. They fell 2-0 to the Regina White Sox and 8-0 to the Saskatoon Dust Devils. They tied the Webber Wildcats 7-7 to close out the tournament on Saturday.
"That went alright," first baseman and catcher Ben Reiter said. "Our bats weren't going, but it was a good starting point for the season."
Country 94.1's Local Sports Live, powered by OMT Projects, will broadcast game one of the doubleheader with Regina on Sunday, beginning at 11:45 a.m.
