Local riders made the trip to Weyburn over the weekend for Round 1 of the Saskatchewan Motocross series.

10 Swift Current competitors attended the event, with more than half of the local participants securing overall places within the top 10 in their designated categories.

Swift Current's Adairia Dickie finished in fourth overall in the Ladies B division, while Cole Gunter captured fourth overall in the Vet Junior category as well as seventh in MX1 Junior.

Linden Notenbomer took sixth place overall in GP Beginner, and Sawyer Ruf secured seventh overall in the 65cc (seven-nine years old) dvision in addition to taking eleventh in the 65cc Open.

Unfortunately, local competitor, Eden Kroeker was unable to complete the race due to bike issues.

Round 2 of the Saskatchewan Motocross series is set for this weekend in the southwest, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday at the Swift Current Motocross Track.
