An inspiring event that promotes and empowers female sport and excellence is coming to Margaret Parsons Theatre at Red Deer Polytechnic this Saturday.

She Plays is a dynamic, community-driven roundtable event designed to inspire and empower the next generation of female leaders through the transformative power of sport.

This free event brings together athletes, educators, coaches, and community leaders to explore the critical role sport plays in building confidence, resilience, and leadership in young women.

This year’s event will feature three speakers that will share their experiences and how girls can lead through sports.

  • Catriona Le May Doan, a two-time Olympic gold medallist

  • Dr. Lauren Sulz, University of Alberta professor and youth heath advocate

  • Jesse Jack, professional hockey coach and player

Through engaging discussions and shared experiences, participants will dive into the challenges girls face in sport, the opportunities for growth, and the long-term benefits of staying active and involved.

Whether you're a parent, coach, athlete, or simply passionate about youth development and gender equity, She Plays offers a unique space to connect, learn, and contribute to a movement that champions girls in sport.

The event starts at 3 p.m., and registration is required. Email info@centralsport.ca to reserve your spot.

With information from Sport Calgary.
