Golfers, sponsors, and community supporters eagerly anticipate the return of one of Swift Current's most beloved fundraising events: the Darren McClelland Memorial Golf Tournament, which will be held on June 6 at Elmwood Golf Course.

Crystal Imrie, Communications and Development Coordinator for the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation, confirmed that this year's tournament is officially sold out. However, a waiting list is available for those hoping to secure a last-minute spot.

"We're just a week away now," Imrie shared. "It's always one of our most popular events, especially since we rebranded it four years ago in honour of the late fire chief Darren McClelland. It's resonated with both sponsors and participants."

Entry to the tournament is $175 per person or $700 per team, and all proceeds will support emergency services in the south.

The funds raised will be shared among the Swift Current Fire Department, Hutch Ambulance, and the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation.

"Our goal is to support the critical emergency services that serve our community daily," Imrie said.

"It's a fun day on the golf course, but it's rooted in a significant cause."

RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities returns as the tournament's presenting heritage sponsor, marking an incredible 19 years of continued support.

"We appreciate RBC's dedication to this event," Imrie added. "Their support, along with the amazing efforts of our staff and volunteers, helps make this tournament something truly special every year."

Although spots are currently full, interested participants can contact the foundation's office to be added to the waiting list in case of cancellations.
