The Swift Current U17 Sonic made their season debut in the Moose Jaw Ladies Fastball League last night and clawed back multiple times to earn a tie.
Down 3-1 and 6-5, Swift Current tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh inning and held the Moose Jaw Strikers scoreless in the home half of the final inning to end in a 6-6 draw.
Bree Pavely and Surrey Lamotte each registered a team-high three hits and an RBI for Swift Current. Five other Sonic batters recorded multi-hit outings.
Pavely tossed four innings, allowing three earned runs, and recorded eight strikeouts, while Mackenzie Smith came on in a relief role, throwing three innings, surrendering two earned runs, and punching out four batters.
The U17 Sonic will head to Prince Albert and Rosthern this weekend for the fifth annual Shaye Amundson Memorial Tournament.
