A second-period goal by Cochrane's Ty Mueller helped lift the Abbotsford Canucks to a 3-2 overtime win over the Texas Stars in Game 1 of the AHL Western Conference final.
Facing Texas for the first time, Mueller gave the Canucks a brief 2-1 lead before Antonio Stranges tied it later in the frame. After a scoreless third period, Christian Wolanin buried the winner in overtime.
It marked a second straight two-point night for Mueller, who also assisted on Abbotsford’s opening goal.
