Red Deer Emergency Services (RDES) responded to a structure fire late Friday evening before 7 p.m. at a townhouse complex located at 4251 54 Ave.
The fire was quickly brought under control; however, fire crews remained on scene to monitor for hot spots and ensure safety.
Investigators were also on site to determine the cause of the fire.
As a result of the fire, three townhouse units sustained extensive damage. A nearby commercial building also received minor damage. Two members of the public were treated on scene for minor burns.
Five engines and two support ladders responded to the call.
The scene was closed for several hours, with RDES thanking the public for their co-operation.
