The Swift Current Wolverines improved their Prairie Gold Lacrosse League playoff hopes Sunday afternoon with a critical win over the Weyburn Razorbacks.

Grady Henderson scored four times for Swift Current, including the game-winner with 4:22 left in regulation in their 6-5 victory at the S3 West Arena on Country 94.1's Local Sports Live.

"He's pretty elusive, he can get away from guys, he's got some quick hands inside," Wolverines head coach Kevin Schafer said, describing Henderon on the Country 94.1 Local Sports Live post-game show. "He's definitely found some success and found the holes. He's been a bright spot for sure."

Henderson opened the scoring 3:25 into the contest, but Ryder Hignett responded 1:11 later, knotting the game at 1-1. Daylan Elviss capped off a great individual effort on the penalty kill, eluding two defenders and pulling off a spin-o-rama before beating Matthew Charlton far side, making it 2-1 for Swift Current.

Weyburn scored a shorthanded marker early in the second frame and followed it up with two more in quick succession to lead 4-2. Henderson notched a power-play goal with 1:05 left in the period, cutting the deficit to 4-3.

Henderson's hat-trick 1:12 into the third tied the game. Hudson Haydon scored on a 2-on-1 for Swift Current with 12:11 left in the period for his first of the season. Henderson then tallied the winner, his fourth of the game and 20th of the season. Hignett scored with just under two minutes left to close the book on the 6-5 score.

"We knew it was going to be a battle with these guys," Schafer said. "We were down a few bodies, guys were tired, but overall our effort level was good."
