With the wildfires continuing to cause havoc in northern Saskatchewan, many groups throughout in the province are stepping up to lend a helping hand. 

The Humboldt Fire Department has been asked by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to help out with firefighting efforts at Weyakwin. The Humboldt Fire Department will be sending up a truck along with a rotating team of four firefighters. 

Humboldt Shopper's Drug Mart helped out the firefighters with a donation of 60 dozen water bottles, electrolytes and granola bars 

The Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue have also deployed multiple crews to Weyakwin to help battle the blaze near the hamlet and along Highway #2. 

There are 15 wildfires burning in Saskatchewan with six not contained. The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency is responding to 18 Evacuation incidents.

In their daily update the Resort Village of Candle Lake says they were informed by the SPSA that the "Shoe" fire is 14 kilometres from Candle Lake. While the voluntary evacuation advisory remains in place, no mandatory evacuation is being recommended due forecasted winds remaining favourable.

There have been 216 fires to date in the province as compared to 172 at the same time last year while the five-year average is 131.
