A man has been sentenced to probation and more than $1,000 in fines after pleading guilty to vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
Jeffery Proteau pleaded guilty to one count of motor vehicle theft and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He received a one-year probation order and was fined a total of $1,020.
The charges stem from an incident in October 2024, when Proteau was seen on a rural property taking a Ford F-350 truck and leaving behind a Jeep. The Jeep was later confirmed to have been reported stolen out of Kerrobert.
In other court matters, Brenden Wilson appeared on new charges, including being unlawfully at large, failing to keep the peace, failing to remain at an approved residence, and possession of items believed to be intended for break and enter. Wilson is already facing 22 other charges. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on June 10.

Meanwhile, the case against Tyson Zale was adjourned to June 24 after a lawyer attempted to enter not guilty pleas on his behalf. It was revealed in court that RCMP currently have a warrant out for his arrest.
We have an update on Cameron Watson’s sentencing out of Saskatoon Court. Watson received a 20-month conditional sentence order, which includes 24-hour house arrest. He was also fined $200.
Several other cases were adjourned, including K. Murfitt, who is scheduled to reappear June 10, B. Boulton on June 17, and T. Wilson on June 24.
