The "Friday at the Park Market" begins today at Michener Park and will take place every Friday until Sept. 5, between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The market is going into its fourth season this year, and coordinator Joanne Ward says they’re ready to go.
“We have a real eclectic group of vendors, so you’ll find everything from food to fresh produce. Fresh fruit is coming at the end of the month, and so much more for families,” says Ward.
Whether you're starting your day or stepping out for a well-deserved lunch break, the market is a great place to enjoy a meal or treat, connect with the community, and support local vendors.
“We have 50 free hot dogs for our first patrons coming to the market today,” says Ward about opening day.
The market is also gearing up for added events this year.
“We're gonna have a kids club this year, so we're pretty excited about what we have going on,” she adds.
Also new this year is "Market Bucks".
Each time you visit, you’ll receive a ticket to enter the "Market Bucks" draw.
At the end of each market day, one winner will receive $10 in "Market Bucks" to spend with any vendor at a future market.
There’s also a monthly basket giveaway filled with products from vendors and keep an eye out for special events planned for the Canada Day weekend and August long weekend.
