The RCMP’s world-renowned Musical Ride is returning to Alberta this summer, bringing its display of tradition, precision, and pageantry to 20 communities across the province, including several in the Cochrane area.
Up to 32 RCMP officers and their horses will perform a series of intricate drills and formations choreographed to music—an event that has become a symbol of Canadian heritage both at home and abroad.
They kick off their Alberta swing at the Calgary Stampede in July, then in August head to the Strathmore Stampede and Century Down Racketrack and Casino on the outskirts of Airdrie. The tour wraps up the Labour Day Weekend at Spruce Meadows.
Other stops include Edmonton, Pincher Creek, Red Deer, St. Paul, Cold Lake, Lloydminster, Medicine Hat, Camrose, Athabasca, Wabasca, High Level, La Crête, Fairview, Donnelly, Whitecourt, and Mayerthorpe.
Members of Alberta RCMP Indigenous Policing Services and recruiting teams will be present at many of the events to engage with local communities.
The Musical Ride also serves a charitable purpose, helping raise thousands of dollars for local non-profits and community organizations.
