Will Cochrane hit the $43,000 target to give three-year-old Brielle Thompson a chance to walk with robotic legs?

A month-long community fundraising drive wraps up this Saturday with a two-hour celebration at Cochrane Toyota, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Organizer Dan Kroffat is inviting residents of Cochrane and area to attend.

"Come out to enjoy what I hope is the finale for this unbelievable fundraiser. We're close. We've got $25,000, and I'm told others are making contributions—so let's get this done for this family. Let's show what Cochrane can really do."

A barbecue sponsored by Cochrane Toyota runs from 1 to 2 p.m., with Mayor Jeff Genung among those manning the grills.

Local MLA Peter Guthrie has donated a $500 grocery gift card and will be there handing out free draw slips.

"We also have a silent auction with some terrific items—a great way to support Michelle and her daughter Brielle."
