Two suspects have been arrested following an assault with a weapon at a business in Martensville on Friday night that sent two people to hospital.
Warman RCMP say officers were called to the 200 block of Centennial Drive North at about 9:55 p.m. on June 13, where they found an adult man suffering from injuries consistent with stab wounds. Officers provided first aid before EMS transported the victim to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A second victim, a male youth who had been physically assaulted but not stabbed, had already been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators determined two suspects — an adult male and a male youth — entered the business and became involved in a physical altercation with the victims. RCMP believe the incident was targeted and not random.
The youth suspect was arrested by RCMP at the hospital, where he was being treated for injuries sustained in the altercation. The adult suspect was arrested at a residence in Martensville later that evening.
A third youth was also taken into custody at a gathering in Martensville, but was released without charges.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and more updates will be provided as they become available.
