Heartbreak for former Swift Current Bronco Stuart Skinner and the Edmonton Oilers last night.

They fell 5-1 to Florida in Game 6 as the Panthers claimed their second consecutive Stanley Cup.

"I think it was just consistency," Skinner said. "They played a consistent game they didn't change once in the series. I think our game was a little bit up and down."

He feels the Oilers have things to learn from another loss in the final.

"For sure there's lessons," Skinner said. "There's lessons as individuals how you can show up better, how you can react better to certain situations. As a team, we need to learn from this right away. Letting this happen two times in a row is devastating."

Skinner stopped 20 of 23 shots he faced in the loss.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves on 29 Edmonton shots to secure the victory for Florida.

Skinner hopes he can one day have a career like the Russian netminder has had.

"I sure hope so," Skinner said. "It's my third year in the league. He's 36 been playing for 14 years. You can tell because nothing changes for him. You can tell mentally that he's in the same spot whether he lets in 6 or gets a shutout. I would love to get in touch with him and ask him how I could fill his shoes... hoping that's my trajectory, but that's going to have to come from me and my hard work."
