The Humboldt Broncos have received another commitment from a goaltender for the upcoming 2025-26 season. This time it’s from a last name familiar to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) in Nick Kotai.

A 2007-born goaltender, Kotai appeared in one game last year with the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL. For most of the season, the 5’10 product of Abbotsford BC, was with the Langley Hockey Academy U18, where he had a record of 9-4, a 3.21 GAA and an 869 SV%.

He has two brothers that has played in the SJHL before, Reilly, the captain of the SJHL champion Melfort Mustangs this past season and led the SJHL in scoring, and Josh, who was a goalie with the Battlefords North Stars under current Broncos Head Coach Brayden Klimosko.

“I’m excited for Nick to be joining our organization.” Said Head Coach and GM Brayden Klimosko in a team release. “With Brady Holtvogt starting the year in Prince George, we need to have depth in our crease. Nick’s background and mindset make him a perfect fit for what we’re building.”
