Hodgeville was overloaded and bustling as over 100 cars took over the town.
The annual Coyote Club Car Show had its second edition with no shortage of support. A total of 104 cars came to the town on Thursday, showing everything off; from classic convertibles to John Deere tractors.
Marlon Haubrich, president of the Coyote Car Club, was thrilled to see so many people come out, especially considering the weather was stunning for such an occasion.
"We were hoping to get a few more cars than last year," said Haubrich. "We actually almost doubled it!"
The event was able to raise $485 for the local minor ball organization via a 50/50.
The event is free to attend and has no entry fee for vehicles. There are also no trophies or awards handed out.
"Our motto is if you are proud of it, bring it," said Haubrich. "A lot of people are worried that their car isn't good enough to show off. No. By all means, if you have something that's unique and you are proud of, bring it on out."
The show generated a lot of local commerce as well. People attending the show from out of town brought an influx of business to the local storefronts, namely the Coyote Kitchen.
"They were stuffed to the gills the whole night," said Haubrich. "Overall, it was a terrific success."
The Coyote Car Club will host the show again next year. Currently, it is their only event, but the group is growing in size, with plans to maybe open things up more in the future.
"We'll review that in a few years and expand upon one or two things," said Haubrich. "But there's just so many events now that it's tough to find something unique."
