The sexual assault case against former Swift Current U18 hockey player Mason Strutt was adjourned to July 3 during proceedings in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday.

Estevan lawyer Kathryn Gilliss appeared by phone on Strutt’s behalf.

She told the court she received the bulk of the disclosure on Friday, but inquired about a few missing items related to Strutt’s arrest.

Gilliss said the disclosure she is seeking may or may not exist and requested the adjournment to July 3 to confirm before making elections and entering pleas.

Judge David Chow asked if, since the adjournment was due to missing disclosure, it should be recorded as a Crown request.

Provincial Crown prosecutor Rob Parker said he wasn’t aware of the content of the conversations Gilliss had with his office but, under the circumstances, agreed to it being noted as a Crown request.

Strutt is also facing several charges in Regina, which have been adjourned to June 26, 2025, for a bench warrant hold.

Originally from Estevan, Strutt played three seasons of U18 AAA hockey in Swift Current.
