The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan is looking to alert folks of an impersonation scam that has come to light.

A website titled www thackeraymines com (the URL has been altered not to be interactive) claims that Thackery Mines is looking for investors and is currently engaged in several rounds of private placement investment in advance of a public listing.

The legitimate Saskatchewan Corporation, Thackeray Mines & Minerals Incorporated, confirmed that they are not associated with the website, are not seeking investment, and are not engaged in any private placement or public offerings and are not in the business of selling stocks.

Dean Murrison, executive director of the Securities Division for the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan, shared that before considering any investment, investors should check the status of the company, as all entities must be registered to trade or sell derivatives and securities in the province.

"Checking the registration status is a quick and valuable protection tool for prospective investors," said Murrison.

It's important to understand the investment, get a second opinion, never allow unauthorized parties, and verify that any investment entity's status can be verified through the Canadian Securities Administrators' National Registration Search at aretheyregistered.ca.

Anyone who may have invested with www thackeraymines com is advised to contact the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority's Securities Division at (306) 787-5936.
