The Calder Cup Final is heading back to Charlotte after the Checkers edged the Abbotsford Canucks 4-3 in overtime last night.

In front of the largest home crowd in Canucks history, a back-and-forth battle was knotted 3-3 after regulation. Jesse Puljujärvi ended it at 15:22 of overtime when a centring pass deflected off two defenders’ skates and slid past the goalie.

It was Charlotte’s second overtime win of the series.

Cochrane’s Ty Mueller picked up an assist on Linus Karlsson’s 13th goal of the playoffs.

Game 6 goes tonight in Charlotte, with Game 7, if needed, set for Wednesday.

The Canucks need one more win to first-ever AHL championship.
