After a tornado last week and heavy rains over the weekend, the southeast isn't past some weather systems as some of those creep in this week. We'll have a bit of a break today, but soon enough, an unsettled system will sweep through.

Environment and Climate Change Canada Meteorologist Matt Loney says it'll feel a bit closer to spring over the coming week.

"We've got kind of an interesting week ahead. We're not into a real summertime pattern yet. We're still kind of coming out of spring there. So we do see disturbance coming in for Wednesday, which is going to promote more shower activity. Temperatures will rebound on Tuesday. They'll come back up into the low to mid-20s."

The temperatures will then shift back down on Wednesday, before coming back later in the week.

Overall, the coming week will have a good amount of changing conditions as a good bit of energy is in the air, says Loney.

"The instability will still be about with this kind of late springtime pattern, where we've got cool upper atmosphere. So that makes for instability. But temperatures are going to rebound a little bit towards the latter part of the week."

Over the next few days, chances of showers will be ever-present as the wettest month of the year continues.

"In the short term, we do have these, as I mentioned, these upper troughs moving through. So when they do, you know, they get instability, the shower activity, and you're more likely to see these lower temperatures because there's just more cloud around."

Sunny conditions are being forecasted for the start of next week, but being so far into the forecast means that the weather is subject to change so far out.
