Exciting news that has been brewing for months now will become a reality in Lanigan.
The sod turning ceremony to signal the beginning of construction of the new Daycare facility in the community will take place on Thursday night.
Along with the sod turning ceremony, there will be a barbecue fundraiser with the proceeds going towards the new building.
The town council of Lanigan approved the construction of a new daycare facility back in January.
Miners Construction Co. Ltd was named as the builder for the project.
Daycare Board member Katelynn Psovsky, Daycare Executive Director Kelsey Dodd and Project Coordinator Barry Morishita had huge roles in helping this project move ahead with selecting a builder for the new day care.
“The daycare board is thrilled to be making so much progress with this project.” said Katelynn Psovsky in a release from the town. Psovsky added “The evaluation process to choose Miner’s construction has made us feel confident that the new daycare build is in great hands.”
It’s a privilege to once again work with the community of Lanigan, delivering high-quality spaces that support children, families, and the future of this growing community.” said Senior Project Manager Travis David from Miners Construction Co. Ltd.
As a council, we are so happy that a key part of our Strategic Priorities has moved forward.” said Mayor Tony Mycock. Mycock added “This is a key piece to the puzzle for Lanigan, not only supporting our existing residents and businesses by having more daycare spots in town, but it also supports our initiatives for growth and I am very excited to see shovels in the ground in the very near future.”
