A chance to stay active this summer in Swift Current has cropped up with camps and lessons geared toward a multitude of ages and a wide range of skills.
The Tennis Association of Swift Current is preparing for the summer camps to take place at Riverside Park in July and August, including Kids Tennis & Soccer Camps for two different age categories and Learn To Play Tennis lessons for adults.
Kimberly Hartwig, head coach for the Tennis Association of Swift Current, shared that the camps are a great way to introduce a new sport, get moving, and improve skills.
"We have joined with the Swift Current Soccer Association to offer kids a full day of sporty fun," she said. "The first camp that we have coming up is for those kids born from 2014-2017 and runs from July 7-10.
"Then we have a camp coming up for the older kids, anyone born 2007-2013, and that camp runs from July 21 to 24."
Weekly fees for the Kids Tennis & Soccer Camps are $115 for the half day or $190 for the full day. Non-tennis club members will also pay an additional $15 court fees, and financial assistance is available.
The Learn To Play Tennis lessons are open to adults and youth ages 15 and up, and lesson fees are $115 for non-members or $95 for members. Financial support is available for U19 players, folks can contact the Tennis Association to learn more.
"We have lessons for people who are brand new and have never played the sport, all the way to the intermediate players," Hartwig added. "We have Adult Beginner 1, and then we have our Adult Beginner 2 and 3."
