It was a celebration of both the past and the future on Thursday afternoon at Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) with their 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The day included demonstrations of some of the tests that have been done at PAMI over the years, an open house, tours and some food trucks.

President and CEO Paul Buczkowski was thrilled to celebrate an important milestone for PAMI alongside several important people.

“This event has really showed me the passion and the people that have come, all the former employees are coming, you know, all the people that have laid the foundation for us.”

Buczkowski added, “a lot of companies like us only last 15 to 17 years. And we're in year 50. So, things are going really well.”

Since its inception, PAMI has been involved in numerous fields of agriculture including machinery and research. To thrive, Buczkowski says PAMI has to evolve.

“Now we're serving a bunch of different industries. And, you know, our strategic plan has worked with transportation and mining as well

PAMI’s strategic plan moving into 2030 is more of the services they provide, Buczkowski explains.

“We're an engineering consulting firm that does mechanical testing and we can take a product through its full life cycle all the way from numerical modeling and simulation to small scale to full scale processing and kind of everything in between. For us to make us successful, we have to be able to deliver on those projects and give the customer the outcome that they’re looking for.”

Looking ahead towards the future, Buczkowski says that they are exploring new products including autonomous vehicles, drones, electric vehicles, and batteries.

“We're continuing to evolve, and we make sure that we bring in the right staff and the right people that are educated in those disciplines, and it makes our job a lot easier when we're delivering the outcomes.”

One feature of the anniversary celebrations was a couple of demonstrations of fall protection tests that PAMI conducted when they first opened 50 years ago. Buczkowski says these tests symbolize PAMI’s present and future.

Buczkowski also extended gratitude towards the employees and community that has helped shaped PAMI’s success.

“PAMI started with a bunch of amazing people, and you know the foundation and the people around the Humboldt in area are instrumental because the majority of those people have either worked for PAMI at one point or will continue to work in the future.”
