Country 94.1's Local Sports Live is serving up a double dose of baseball on Sunday.
First up is the 9-4 Swift Current 11U AAA Nutrien Ag Solutions 57s as they welcome the 5-14 White Butte Broncos to Sharon Hogg Field for a noon first pitch.
The 57s sit fourth in the league standings but sit only three points back of a tie for second and have three games in hand on the Regina Athletics.
Swift Current beat White Butte twice on May 25, 23-12 and 22-9.
Head coach Chad Duckworth is hoping his team can continue its strong play against the Broncos.
"Our strong point is our bats, so if we come out hitting, we should be fine again," he said. "They hit well when we played them, but as long as we come out hitting, we shouldn't have a problem with White Butte."
The 11U AAA 57s will face the third-place Regina Wolfpack on Saturday in Swift Current. Swift Current has three games in hand on the Wolfpack and is only two points behind them, with provincials around the corner.
"As it looks, us and the three Regina teams seem to be in the top four, so any of those games against each other are big games," he said. "If we can get a win and create a little bit of separation to try and chase down first."
Local Sports Live on Country 94.1, powered by OMT Projects, starts at 11:50 a.m. with a pre-game show. Game two of the day will feature the Swift Current U17 Sonic with first pitch at 2:50 p.m. as they face the Valley Vipers.
