A vibrant annual exhibition highlighting artwork from across the southwest recently opened up at the West Wing Gallery in Swift Current.
The 2025 Southwest Open exhibition, featuring a wide range of pieces in various mediums, is on display until August 23 with free admission.
Luke Maddaford, curator of exhibitions and programming at the Art Gallery of Swift Current, shared that the West Wing Gallery is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
"It's an opportunity for artists in the southwest corner of the province to show some recent work they've been working on, share it with the community, and receive some feedback from a mentor," he said. "There's some really fabulous local work in the show this year, and I'm really excited for the community to see it."
During Frontier Days this past weekend, the exhibition even included an Artist Trading Card activity.
"We'll be doing a public reception for the exhibition in August, our mentor will be there, and we'll be chatting with some of the artists," added Maddaford.
Folks are welcome to stop by the public reception from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on August 16.
