The annual Frontier Days Livestock Show & Sale brought out a whole herd of 4-H Club members from across Saskatchewan with their steers, heifers, and prized livestock.
As usual, the 4-H Steer Sale was a highlight of the event, auctioning off a total of 85 steers at an average price of $5.08 per pound.
The High Selling Steer came from Laramie Greenwood with the Wymark 4-H Club, who sold a steer for $10,850, or $7 per pound, to Sky Ag Services in Swift Current.
While the Grand Champion Steer was sold by Scarlet Smyth from the Nomads 4-H Club to Silverline Construction in Swift Current for $5.75 per pound, and the Reserve Grand Champion Steer was brought in by Finley Blake with the Wymark 4-H Club and sold to Karst Holding Integra Tire for $5.50 per pound.
The 2025 Livestock Show & Sale also included a 4-H judging competition, heifer show, showmanship event, steer show, purebred show, female pen show, and jackpot show.
A handful of southwest 4-H members received titles and recognition for their efforts;
Chloe Wagner with the Maple Creek 4-H Club secured Junior Champion in 4-H Showmanship, as well as claiming the Grand Champion Female horned hereford in the Purebred Show, the Grand Champion Bull polled hereford, the Grand Champion Female polled hereford, and the Grand Champion Bull in the All Breeds class.
Finley Blake from the Wymark 4-H Club was named champion of the Light Weight Division Steer, in addition to having the Grand Champion Steer.
Reese Spenst with the Wymark 4-H Club was champion of the Heavy Weight Division Steer.
Along with securing the title of High Selling Steer, Laramie Greenwood was also recognized in the Open Showmanship.
Thayer Dyck out of Swift Current had the Grand Champion Female Limousin in the Purebred Show.
Bryce Hicks from Parkbeg had the Grand Champion Female Gelbvieg as well as the Grand Champion Female in the All Breeds class.
Hazlet's Keegan Little had the Grand Champion Bull Gelbvieh.
The Grand Champion Female speckle park came from Knox Sandau from Swift Current.
Merrit Lacelle, out of Herbert, brought in the Grand Champion Female main anjou.
In addition to having the Grand Champion Steer, Scarlett Smyth also had the Grand Champion Jackpot Steer.
Hodgeville's Hillary Sauder was Reserve Champion in the Jackpot Show.
Deer Range Farms from Stewart Valley secured first place in the Pen of 3 Bred Heifers while Windy Willows Farms from Hodgeville received second.
Crocus Simmentals from Swift Current took first in the Cow with Bull Calf, and Windy Willows Farms pulled up second for the second time.
Short Grass Limousin from Swift Current finished in first place in the Cow with Heifer Calf, while Cactus Ridge Red Angus from Webb finished in second.
