Meeting new people can be tough, but the City of Red Deer is hoping to make it a little easier this summer with the return of a popular community program.
Meet Me at the Park is back with a wide range of fun-filled activities for residents of all ages, aiming to bring the community together and foster a sense of connection and belonging.
The program offers an array of inclusive activities designed to promote physical activity, social interaction and community engagement. From energetic games to arts and crafts and nature-focused experiences, there’s something for everyone.
“We look forward to this program each year, as we love to hear the stories of fun and connection that come from our community members,” said Georgia Major, community and program facilitator with the City of Red Deer.
“This program is a great way to explore the incredible park amenities we have in Red Deer and to fill your days with discovery and activity.”
Running from July 2 to Aug. 22, Meet Me at the Park will take place in neighbourhood parks throughout the city. All activities will be supervised by trained staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
The program is supported by a range of local partners, agencies and community associations, and is a collaborative effort between the city’s Safe and Healthy Communities Department and local organizations.
