During a water main service repair today, a significant issue occurred which has resulted in substantial disruption to the municipal water system. Town crews are working urgently to complete the repair and restore normal operations.
To maintain essential service levels and protect the system from further strain, the Town of Olds is now implementing Level 3 Water Restrictions, effective immediately.
Level 3 Water Restrictions prohibit a wide range of residential and non-residential water uses and require all residents and businesses to immediately reduce consumption.
Location: The entire Town of Olds and specifically 4002 57 Ave
Effective: Immediately – updates will be provided as the situation evolves
Level 3 Water Restrictions:
To preserve water supply, the following uses are NOT permitted:
Residential Restrictions:
- Landscape watering (lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs)
- Filling of swimming pools, spas, fountains, and other water features
- Washing of vehicles, homes, driveways, windows, patios, boats, etc.
- Use of water toys (e.g., sprinklers, slides)
- Outdoor ice or snow making
Non-Residential Restrictions:
- Lawn, green space, and sports field watering
- Washing of driveways, patios, windows, etc.
- Bulk water sales
- Use by commercial nurseries and market gardens
- Use by commercial car wash facilities
- Limiting non-essential water use at commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities
- Use of splash park
