A couple of former Swift Current Broncos are on the move.
Justin Dowling and Lane Pederson signed with new teams on the first day of NHL free agency.
Pederson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.
It will pay him $775,000 when playing in the NHL.
Pederson had an injury riddled season with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors in 2024-25.
He had 12 points in only 18 games for the Edmonton Oilers' AHL affiliate.
The Saskatoon native has played 71 NHL games over his career.
Meanwhile, Dowling reportedly signed a two-year deal with the New York Rangers.
The first year of the deal is a one-way NHL contract worth $775,000, while the second year is a two-way contract which would pay Dowling $450,000 if he plays in the AHL.
2024-25 was the best professional season for the 34-year-old as he played 52 NHL games for the New Jersey Devils.
Dowling had 2 goals and 5 assists for the Devils.
He has suited up for 152 NHL games over a 14-season professional career.
