Natural gas rates decrease for ATCO Gas customers this July.
Direct Energy Regulated Services has announced lower natural gas rates for the month.
The new rates apply to customers in the ATCO Gas North and South service territories who are not signed with a competitive energy retailer.
North service territory: Customers living in and north of the City of Red Deer.
The regulated natural gas rate is decreasing from the June rate of $1.775 per gigajoule (GJ) to $1.097 per GJ.
This rate reflects a market price for July supplies of approximately $1.36 per GJ, as reported by NGX, and incorporates an adjustment of -$0.263 per GJ for June and prior months.
A typical residential gas bill for July, based on average consumption of 2 GJ, would be approximately $66 in the North.
South service territory: Customers living south of the City of Red Deer.
The regulated natural gas rate is also decreasing from the June rate of $1.775 per GJ to $1.097 per GJ.
This rate reflects a market price for July supplies of approximately $1.36 per GJ, as reported by NGX, and includes an adjustment of -$0.263 per GJ for June and earlier.
A typical residential gas bill for July, based on 2 GJ of average use, would be about $52 in the South.
