Red Deer RCMP are increasing traffic enforcement throughout the city this month as part of a continued effort to improve road safety.
The City of Red Deer’s Automated Traffic Enforcement Program, which includes photo laser and red-light intersection cameras, will be active across multiple areas in July. These tools, in addition to conventional enforcement and public education campaigns, are intended to reduce speeding and prevent collisions.
Automated enforcement will focus on areas with a history of traffic collisions, property damage, injuries or fatalities, as well as neighbourhoods with high pedestrian traffic or ongoing speeding concerns.
Mobile photo radar units will be deployed in the following neighbourhoods:
