A cyclist was transported to hospital following a crash Wednesday morning in La Broquerie.
Fire Chief J.C. Normandeau says his department received the call at 9:37 am. He explains that a male cyclist riding an e-bike was heading north down Main Street, when he was hit by a car turning onto Main Street from Gauthier Street.
"Obviously, the car operator did not see the cyclist coming by and then accidentally hit him," says Normandeau.
He says the cyclist was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
According to Normandeau, the car was turning and therefore was not travelling at a high rate of speed when the collision happened.
He notes they were able to keep one lane open to traffic while crews cleared the scene. Everything was reopened within 45 to 60 minutes.
