In less than a month, the August long weekend kicks off with the Strathmore Stampede Parade.

In recent years, the Strathmore Wheatland Chamber of Commerce has organized the parade, but this year, Rocket Grid Marketing has taken over the reins.

Tyler Hille, Founder & CEO of Rocket Grid, explained why they decided to take on the job of organizing.

"One of the things that we're pretty passionate about is being part of the community, working with community events, and giving back in whatever ways that we can. We decided to take the parade on this year as a kind of new endeavour for us."

Some of the floats in the parade will feature the RCMP musical ride, Bow River MP David Bexte, Mayor Pat Fule, Strathmore Town Council, and much more.

The crew is shooting for the biggest parade in Strathmore's history. Around 100 floats were registered in 2024, with the group aiming for 115 this year.

Hille told StrathmoreNow about the importance of the event.

"It's just a great way to get the family out. It's free entertainment, and it's something that we all kind of come together for. Everyone waves and smiles, and we see all the smiling faces, and the kids are having a great time, it's a win-win."

The parade route will remain the same as last year.
