Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ike Hanna as Associate Superintendent of Learning Services and Nicole Zimmerman as Associate Superintendent of Student Services, effective August 18, 2025. These strategic additions to the Senior Leadership Team will bring extensive experience and a deep commitment to Catholic education to the division.
Ike Hanna, appointed as Associate Superintendent of Learning Services, has been a dedicated member of RDCRS since 2003. He holds a Master of Education in Leadership and School Improvement from the University of Alberta and brings over 20 years of experience in the Pre-K to Grade 12 education system.
Mr. Hanna has held various leadership roles within the division, including vice-principal at St. Thomas Aquinas Middle School and principal at Father Henri Voisin School, St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, and École Secondaire Notre Dame High School. His passion for mentoring educators, coupled with his commitment to faith, inclusion, and curriculum development, will be invaluable in his new role. Mr. Hanna is also an active member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Parish.
Nicole Zimmerman, who will serve as Associate Superintendent of Student Services, has been with RDCRS for over 30 years, joining in 1994. She holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Curriculum from City University of Seattle, where she received Presidential Honours for Meritorious Achievement. Ms. Zimmerman's diverse career with Red Deer Catholic includes roles as a classroom teacher, French Immersion Lead, Curriculum Coordinator, vice-principal, and principal across several schools, including Montfort, St. Thomas Aquinas Middle School, École Camille J. Lerouge, and St. Teresa of Avila.
Currently the Division Director of Inclusion, Ms. Zimmerman brings 15 years of administrative experience and a profound dedication to inclusive learning supports. She is also a longtime member of Sacred Heart Parish, actively serving as a proclaimer, Eucharistic Minister, and a founding member of St. Katharine’s Conference, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
