A suspended driver, a high-speed traffic stop, and a breach of peace at a local campground were among the calls handled by Rosetown RCMP between June 26 and July 3, according to the detachment’s latest weekly report.

On June 27 at 9:54 p.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop near Fiske and discovered the driver’s licence had been suspended.

The following afternoon, a lost cellphone was turned in to the detachment and later reunited with its owner.

A more serious incident occurred on June 29 at 6:59 p.m., when a vehicle was stopped on Highway 7 west of Rosetown for excessive speeding. The driver was issued a seven-day provincial driving suspension and had their vehicle impounded for 30 days.

On June 30, police received a report of a lost purse in Rosetown around 12:41 p.m. Later that evening, at 8:09 p.m., officers responded to a breach of peace call at Prairie Lake Regional Park. All parties were separated, and no further police action was required.

Canada Day saw continued police activity. At 7:13 a.m., RCMP responded to multiple calls related to a custody dispute in the RM of Canaan. The matter remains under investigation. Later that day, at 2:24 p.m., officers were called to Kyle, Sask., to assist with a complaint of vehicle damage.

Throughout the reporting period, Rosetown RCMP issued 84 traffic-related charges and received three 911 mis-dial calls. No false alarms were reported.
