Shelby Boisjoli-Meged from Langdon, AB, leads the ladies in the debut of Breakaway Roping at this year's Calgary Stampede.
It's making its debut this year at the world's largest outdoor rodeo.
Another local favourite, Jenna Dallyn from Nanton, came in 3rd with three other Albertans in the mix.

Albertans also did well in Tie Down Roping.

- Shane Smith (Wimborne, AB) - NT (no time)
Fan favourite Bull Riding only saw four riders stay on for the full 8 seconds, but Jared Parsonage was one of them.

- Edgar Durazo (Moctezuma, Sonora, Mexico but trains in High River, AB) - BO (bucked off)
A steer wrestler from Provost, AB is also in the running.

Ladies Barrel Racing is also a huge fan favourite, but only two Canadians are in Pool A.

- Taylor Cherry (Quesnel, BC) - 17.720 seconds (7th)
An Albertan had a solid ride in Saddle Bronc.
- Lucas Macza (High River, AB) - 77.00 (8th)
Bareback also saw a Calgarian in Pool A.
- Jake Stemo (Calgary, AB) - 69.00 (7th)
And Novice Bareback had four Albertans entered.
