The stars of My Life With the Walter Boys — the hit Netflix series filmed in Alberta — were spotted soaking up the sun at the Calgary Stampede this week, just as Netflix confirmed that Season 2 will premiere August 28.

Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde and Ashby Gentry, who play Jackie, Cole and Alex in the coming-of-age drama, were seen taking in the rodeo grounds and snapping selfies in western wear.

Their Stampede appearance comes days after Netflix released first-look images from the new season. While both seasons were shot in Alberta, Season 1 featured several filming locations near Airdrie — including Crossfield’s Railway Street and Girletz Rodeo Ranch in Rocky View County. Those sites were not used in Season 2, according to Netflix.

Other local backdrops used in the film include the Cochrane RancheHouse and Fence & Post restaurant, the Elbow River Launch in Kananaskis, and several Calgary sites: Heritage Park, the Jubilee Auditorium, the University of Calgary, and Splitsville Glamorgan bowling alley.

The 10-episode first season, released in 2023, followed 15-year-old Jackie Howard, a Manhattan teenager who relocates to rural Colorado after a family tragedy. She moves in with her late mother’s best friend — a guardian raising 10 children — and finds herself caught between two Walter brothers.

According to a June 24 article by Tudum, a Netflix-owned outlet, filming for Season 2 has wrapped. A third season is already in the works and expected in 2026.
