A Book Fair for grown-ups (and everyone else!) — don’t miss the Expo. Facebook/Sylvan Lake Municipal Library

Book lovers of all ages are invited to a brand-new literary event at the Sylvan Lake Municipal Library today (July 12).

The first-ever Book Expo will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering an exciting day of author readings, book sales, and interactive opportunities with professionals from across the literary world.

The idea for the event was sparked by Programmer and host Maddie Anderson, inspired by a bit of nostalgia.

“She kind of got the idea for it with scholastic book fairs and wanting to have one for herself as a grown-up,” said Corrie Brown, Head Programmer at the library.

Brown says the expo will feature a diverse range of local authors, publishers, editors, and book-themed vendors.

“If you're a budding young writer and want to learn more about the field, you'll be able to ask questions directly to the writers, publishers, and editors attending,” she said.

“It's a great way to get out, discover some new authors, and maybe grow your own personal library a little.”

The free event will be open to all ages, with no registration required.

Attendees can browse and purchase books, crafts, and literary merchandise directly from creators and sellers.
