The Town of Cochrane wants to hear from locals as they look to refresh a neighbourhood park and improve community green spaces.

Public engagement is now open for Samuel Spicer Park, with residents invited to share their ideas and feedback through the Town’s online engagement platform, LetsTalkCochrane.ca. The goal is to gather input on how the park is used today and what changes or upgrades locals would like to see in the future.

Whether it’s upgraded play equipment, new lawn games, added seating, or other amenities, the Town wants to hear directly from those who use the space most.

“At Samuel Spicer Park, we’re not just replacing playground equipment—we’re co-creating a space that reflects what matters most to the people who use it,” said Michelle Ambrose, Director of Parks & Active Living. “The ideas and input we gather through this engagement will directly guide the design, ensuring the renewed park is truly shaped by residents, for residents—and continues to support connection, play, and belonging for years to come.”

Unlike a vote on a specific park design, this engagement encourages residents to help shape a vision based on community priorities. Feedback collected will be used to guide future plans, ensuring the space remains inclusive and relevant for years to come.

The engagement period is open now through September 8. Residents can visit LetsTalkCochrane.ca/shapingparks to learn more and share their thoughts.
