The Ponoka off-leash dog park will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, July 16, for weed control.

The closure was originally scheduled for Monday but was postponed due to rainy weather.

The park is expected to reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 17.

The small-dog area will remain open, as it is not affected by the weed control application.

The Town of Ponoka conducts regular, pet-safe weed control, carried out by a certified application specialist in accordance with Alberta’s Weed Control Act.

This helps ensure the park remains a safe, welcoming space for pets and their owners.
