An adrenaline-packed weekend of dirt racing is right around the corner, featuring Alberta's Legend Cars, the modifieds, minis, hobbies, street stocks, and a duo of thrilling kids' events.
The Swift Current Stock Car Racing Association is setting up for the races, kicking off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Swift Current Motor Speedway.
Terry Fehr, vice president of the Swift Current Stock Car Racing Association, shared that everyone is welcome and admission is $15 for adults or $5 for children.
"The Legend Cars are those little ones that are really low to the ground and they kind of look like old, 1920s-style cars," he said. "They run motorcycle engines in them, so they're a completely different style of car.
"I also want to remind everbody that our pits are open, usually up to an hour or and hour and a half ahead of time, and if you want to get a closer look at the cars you're welcome to come to the pits, do a little walk around, meet some of the drivers, and bring the kids."

Additionally, Friday evening will include kids' bike races, while Saturday features the kids' Power Wheel Demolition Derby for a chance to win some exciting prizes.
"The bike races will be right on the racetrack, they don't race the entire track, the younger kids go a shorter distance, and the bigger kids go a bit further," added Fehr. "The kid's demo derby is right out front by the flag stand, it's actually inside the pipe where we park after the races are over.
"If you haven't come to a race yet this year, this is a good one to come to, kids' demo derby is always a really funny time, and it's really entertaining."
