RCMP in Oyen are investigating after homemade tire deflation devices were discovered under a police vehicle parked at the home of an off-duty officer earlier this week.
Sometime between 8 p.m. on July 14 and 7:30 a.m. on July 15, a suspect or suspects entered the officer’s private property and placed the devices under the tires of a marked police vehicle. Two tires were punctured, leaving the vehicle inoperable.
Mounties are calling the incident serious, warning that the safety of both officers and the public may have been placed at risk.
