57's split doubleheader with Beavers

A split on the road for the Swift Current 57's.

They won 2-1 and fell 6-1 in a doubleheader against Weyburn. 

Trigg Mapes drove in 2 runs with a base hit in the top of the 4th inning as the 57's pulled ahead in the first game.

Jaylen Gutierrez allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 5 innings to earn the win on the mound for Swift Current.

The 57's then scattered 7 hits but left 7 runners on base in the second half of the doubleheader.

Brayden Mayencourt's home run was the difference in a 6-1 Beavers win.

Weyburn remains 1.5 games ahead of Swift Current for 5th place in the WCBL East Division.

The teams play again tonight in Weyburn and Friday night in Swift Current.
