The Town of Cochrane is reminding residents to stay clear of a local Environmental Reserve due to an active coyote den.
The closed area sits between the neighbourhoods of Riviera and Rivercrest and has been off-limits since the protective den was discovered.
"The Environmental Reserve remains temporarily closed due to the presence of a protective coyote denning in the area," says a notice from the Town’s Parks and Open Spaces Department.

Despite posted signage, officials say some people are still entering the closed trails and nearby pathways.
"We would like to remind all residents that this area is closed for public safety and to protect local wildlife."
