Cochrane's Riley Boychuk is among 40 players invited to Hockey Canada’s selection camp for the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

The Prince Albert Raiders forward will attend the camp in Oakville, Ont., from July 29 to Aug. 1, with hopes of securing a spot on Canada’s U18 men’s team.

The final roster will represent Canada at the annual international tournament, which takes place Aug. 11–16 in Brno, Czechia, and Trencin, Slovakia.

Boychuk, 17, is one of 24 forwards named to the camp roster, which also includes 12 defencemen and four goaltenders. Six players won gold at the 2025 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship, and 34, including Boychuk, previously suited up for Canada Red or Canada White at the 2024 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

Boychuk helped Canada White capture gold at that tournament, scoring in the final to lift his team to a 3–1 win over Canada Red.

Following the camp, the team will train in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, from Aug. 3–6, with pre-tournament games scheduled against Hungary’s U20 team on Aug. 7 in Budapest and Slovakia on Aug. 9 in Piestany.

In his rookie WHL season, Boychuk posted 14 goals, 15 assists, and a +11 rating in 64 games with the Raiders.
