The Moose Jaw Police Service have arrested and charged a 17-year-old boy wanted for attempted murder following a police operation on the 1100 block of Willow Avenue on Tuesday.
The police operation was in connection to a weapons call the Moose Jaw Police Service received on Monday on the North Service Road.
According to police, a youth suspect shot the victim and fled the area in a vehicle. The victim was attended to by EMS and transported to hospital with serious injuries. Police say the two individual were known to each other.
The 17-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder and several firearms-related offences.
The boy's name is not being released under the Yourth Criminal Justice Act.
Assisting in the investigation were the MJPS tactical response team, crisis negotiators, criminal investigation section, community policing division, K-9 unit, and remote-piloted aircraft system, the Saskatchewan RCMP's Moose Jaw crime reduction team, the Moose Jaw RCMP and Lumsden RCMP.
