Estevan police dealt with a variety of calls on July 17, including missing children, alcohol-related offences and noise complaints.
Officers responded to a report of loud music at a local residence. Police attended and attempted to mediate a resolution between the parties involved.
A five-year-old child was reported missing that afternoon. Police, along with neighbours and community members, searched the area. The child was later found safe inside a neighbour’s home and returned to his parents.
Later that day, police were called after a 13-year-old girl was believed to have gone missing. Officers arrived at the home and located her inside. No further police action was needed.
Police also received a report of several youths observed drinking alcohol inside a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. One individual was ticketed under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act for having alcohol in a vehicle.
During the night shift, a traffic stop was conducted to confirm a driver’s sobriety. Officers noted signs of impairment and administered an oral fluid device test, which returned a positive result for THC. The driver received a roadside licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded.
