Sonic win bronze at provincials in a mostly dominant effort

A bronze for the Swift Current Sonic at U17 B Softball provincials over the weekend.

The Sonic were dominant in going 6-1 at the tournament, but their only loss was 14-4 against Macklin in the semifinal.

Bree Pavely pitched four shutout innings in a 14-0 win over the Valley Vipers to secure bronze.

She also went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored at the plate, while Lyla Thiessen went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

The Sonic rolled through round robin with wins of 11-1 over Moose Jaw, 9-0 over the Regina Royals Roadrunners, 16-0 over the Saskatoon Selects Storm, and 14-4 against the Aces.

Swift Current then beat Estevan 13-3 in the quarterfinal before their semifinal loss to Macklin.

The Sonic finished the season 28-3-2.
